To create new ads for your campaign, there are two options:

In either scenario, the first step is to click on the hamburger menu in the top left navigation and under "Advertising Hub" select Creatives.

Within the modal that pops up, you'll be prompted to select your Campaign that you want to add creatives to.

This will take you to the Creatives section within your Campaign. From here, you'll have the option to Create New Ads or Add Existing Ad.

Importing Ads From Meta Ads Manager

From the Creatives section, click + Add Existing Ad in the top right corner. Within the modal that pops up, you are required to enter the following information:

  • Name: The name entered for the ad should be descriptive, as this will be displayed in ROUX's analytics reporting. You can not use the same name twice in the same ad set.

  • Ad Set: Choose the appropriate ad set to add your creative.

  • Facebook Ad ID: This is the Facebook ad ID associated with the creative in Ads Manager. To locate the ID, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to your desired ad in Ads Manager.

    2. Click Edit to open it.

    3. Click the three dots in the top right corner.

    4. Copy the ID.

  • Media Type: Choose the media type for the ad you are importing.

  • Status: By default, set the status to Active. This will ensure ads go live once the campaign is live. If you wish to manually turn on the ads later, set the status to Inactive.

Once complete, click Add Creative. Repeat this process as many times as necessary to add all of your creatives to Ad Sets.

If you need to update your ad, click on the pencil icon for the ad and the modal will pop up:

Here you can make any necessary updates, or Copy To New Ad Set if you wish for your ad to run in multiple places. Once finished, click Update Creative.

Creating Ads In ROUX

If you're only interested in creating ads directly in ROUX, from the hamburger menu you can click Create Ads under "Quick Start" and once you select your campaign you'll be taken directly to ROUX's Creative Asset Management tool.

Alternatively, from the Creatives section, click + Create New Ads in the top right corner and you will be directed to the Creative Asset Management tool.

From the Creatives page, you'll see three columns of content:

  • Creative Assets: This is where you can add all copy, image, and video assets.

  • Ad Sets: You can then take those creative assets, combine copy and visual assets, then add them to ad sets.

  • Ad Preview: You'll be able to see a preview of the ads you create.

The next section will walk you through adding creative assets, creating ads, then adding them to ad sets:

Adding Copy Assets

To add a new copy asset, start by clicking on + ASSETS in the Copy Assets widget.

A modal will pop up where you can create your new asset. You'll give your asset a Name, enter the Content, and have the option to add a Project Tag for organizational purposes:

  • Name: The name you enter here is for internal identification and organizational purposes only.

  • Content: The content you enter here will be the copy that appears in your ad.

  • Project Tags: You have the ability to create or apply a project tag to your Copy Asset, to help keep content organized across campaigns. This field is optional.

Once you are finished entering your ad copy, click Add Copy. Within the Copy Assets widget, the status of your copy will be Pending until it is approved.

Editing Copy Assets

Prior to an asset being approved, it is still possible to edit it in ROUX. To do so, simply click on the pencil icon on the desired Copy Asset.

The modal will pop up again where you can make your desired edits. Once complete, click Edit Copy.

Alternatively, you can Delete the copy if you wish to remove it entirely, or Duplicate Copy if you wish to create a similar iteration of the Copy Asset.

Adding Graphic Assets

To add a new graphic asset, start by clicking on + ASSETS in the Graphic Assets widget.

A modal will pop up where you have the option drag and drop your asset or select it from your computer. On the right hand side of the modal is a Minimum Requirements section that outlines the minimum dimensions for each asset type. You will be unable to upload assets that don't meet this minimum requirements.

Once you have added your asset, it will display as Pending in the Graphic Assets widget.

There is no requirement for further steps once you have uploaded your graphic asset(s).

Editing Graphic Assets

If you would like to replace your graphic, or add a Project Tag, clicking on the image will bring up a modal with some additional options:

To replace the graphic, click Choose File and select the new file from your computer.

You also have the option to Use as Campaign Cover, which will make the graphic the display image for the campaign in ROUX (visible when in the Creatives section of the Advertising Hub).

Once complete, click Edit Graphic.

Alternatively, you can Delete the graphic if you wish to remove it entirely.

Adding Video Assets

The process to add a Video Asset is identical to adding a Graphic Asset. Begin by clicking + ASSETS in the Video Assets widget.

The same modal will pop up that appears when adding a Graphic Asset. The Minimum Requirements for video uploads are available on the right hand side.

Editing Video Assets

If you would like to replace your video, follow the same steps outlined in Editing Graphic Assets.

How to Create an Ad with Creative Assets

In the Ad Sets section, click + AD in the ad set widget you'd like to create your ad within.

The Create Ad modal will pop up, where you can enter the following information:

  • Name: This name will be displayed in the Facebook Analytics reporting section of ROUX.

  • Description: Enter a description of your ad, or simply enter the Name again if you don't wish to include a description (as this is a required field).

  • Media Type: Select from the following media types:

    • Image (Link): This is the standard image ad format on Facebook, with a headline appearing below the image.

    • Image - 1:1 Ratio (No Link): This differs from the standard image ad format as it does not include a headline below the image. This ad type is used when you want to emulate a more organic looking post. Be sure to include a link in your copy.

    • Image - 1.91:1 Ratio (No Link): This is like the 1:1 Ratio (No Link) image format, except with a different image ratio.

    • Video (Link): This is the standard video ad format on Facebook, with a headline appearing below the video.

    • Video (No Link): This differs from the standard video ad format as it does not include a headline below the video. This ad type is used when you want to emulate a more organic looking post. Be sure to include a link in your copy.

  • Facebook Page: Select the page you would like to run this ad from.

  • Notes: This is an optional field to include notes about the ad.

Once you select your Media Type, the Create Ad modal will display additional fields. With Image (Link) being used as an example, you can enter the following information:

  • Copy: Select the copy asset you want to use in your ad.

  • Graphic: Select the graphic asset you want to use in your ad. If you selected a video ad type, you will be prompted to select a video asset.

  • Website URL: Enter the URL (removing https://) where you want your ad to link to.

  • Display Link: This is an optional field. If your website URL is roux.ai/landingpage, the display link would be roux.ai by default. Enter a display link here if you want to change the default URL.

  • Headline: This is your main headline that will display below you ad image or video.

  • News Feed Link Description: This will appear as a description below your headline.

  • Call To Action: Select the CTA that best reflects the action you want people to take when they click your ad.

  • Conversion Domain Override: Provide the domain used in AEM if the conversion takes place on a domain different from the one in this creative.

Once all of the fields are complete, click Create Ad Preview.
